ABOUT US
We exist to see lives impacted by the good news of Jesus
We absolutely believe that the Gospel changes lives. When the Apostle Peter preached the good news in Acts 2 the Bible says that when the people heard it, "they were cut to the heart". God's word is alive and it is active and it changes lives. The good news of Jesus not only impacts the heart of new believers it impacts our hearts continually. The good news of Jesus saves us and grows us. Therefore, we exist to impact lives for Jesus by pressing forward with the good news that Jesus is both Lord and Christ.
What we believe
THE SHORT VERSION
Really we're just a bunch of Christians who love Jesus. We love the Bible and we love helping each other to follow Jesus more and more.
THE LONG VERSION
This is a longer and more detailed version but hang in there because you don't need to know all this stuff or even believe it to come along on Sunday.
About God
There is only one living, true and everlasting God. He is the only God of infinite power, wisdom and goodness. He is the Maker and Preserver of all things. God exists in three unique and equal persons - Father, Son and Spirit.
About Jesus
Jesus is both fully God and fully human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He entered into human history and was tempted as we are tempted, though he never sinned. He lived a perfect life in full obedience to the Father. He died the death we deserve, in our place, for our sin. He was crucified, died and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures. He ascended into heaven and will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will be without end.
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
God the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son, of one substance, majesty and glory. He regenerates the heart to respond to God and indwells the believer at conversion. God the Holy Spirit points us to Jesus in all things, thus making Jesus central in everything. He illuminates the Bible to us in order to help us grasp the truth, producing in us fruit and special gifts for the purpose of building up the church.
ABOUT THE BIBLE
The Bible contains all things necessary for salvation and is the supreme way God reveals himself to us. It is infallible and divinely inspired and is the absolute authority in all matters of faith, conduct and experience. The Bible is central in everything we do and is absolutely required for the wellbeing of the church, for the equipping of God's people for lives of godliness.
ABOUT HUMANITY
Men and women are uniquely created in the image of God and therefore, are of great importance to Him. Tragically, as a result of the Fall all men and women have fallen short of God's glory and stand condemned for sin and under the wrath of a Holy and Just God. Men and women can only turn to God after the regenerative work of the Holy Spirit.
ABOUT SALVATION
We firmly believe that there is only one name under heaven by which we can be saved, the Lord Jesus Christ. We are saved from God's wrath, the dominion of sin, and the power of death by God's kindness alone. We are saved from sin and death by Christ's dying for us, in our place, for our sin. We are saved by Jesus to live for eternity with God the Father, Son and Spirit. We continue to love the three Persons of the trinity, Father, Son and Spirit through worship and service in Christ.
ABOUT THE CHURCH
God has planted His people into a new community through Jesus. This is a visible community of people who meet together and worship Jesus and enjoy and sit under His word. Within the church God the Holy Spirit gives gifts to both men and women for the building up of God's people.
